Nanchang Hangkong University’s “Belt and Road” Band has joined forces with local Jiangxi musicians to perform “Fight for Our Cities,” the anthem for the Jiangxi City Football Super League, known as Ganchao. The lyrics were written by Nanchang Hangkong University faculty members Huang Yichuan and Xie Hua, and the music was composed by Fan Xin and Huang Yichuan. The lyrics weave together Ganpo cultural symbols such as the bamboo seas of Jinggangshan, the Pavilion of Prince Teng, and millennia-old kiln fires, using a stirring melody to express the heroic courage on the pitch and the soul of the cities. Chinese and international students share the stage, lending their voices to cheer on grassroots footballers from eleven cities as they chase their dreams.
